It was the run up to Christmas 2018 and mum was having to spend the day in hospital for some test or other and I was there keeping her company. We were chatting and she asked what I was doing that night when I got home, I said I had bought mincemeat and was going to make some pies. I mentioned I had bought mincemeat in a jar, “in a jar?” She asked, yes i replied. I normally keep mine in the freezer she said, oh really I didn’t know you could do that I said. I said I’m trying a different mincemeat this time this one has got orange pieces in too. “Orange pieces in? That sounds disgusting” Her face screwed up looking more and more confused. It took us both a moment to realise she was talking about minced beef and I was talking about Christmas pies. This was all followed by fits of laughter, the kind where sometimes no noise comes out. We were swiftly told off by the nurse for being too loud, which was then followed by more laughter 🤣🤣💕💕
